Surgery

Chances are, at some point during your pet’s lifetime, he or she will need to undergo some type of surgery, whether it’s something as simple as a routine spay or neuter or a more complex procedure. At Noah’s Animal Hospital at Wheaton, we know that having to turn your pet over for surgery can be a

frightening and stressful time for you both. That’s why we work tirelessly to ensure that each surgical procedure performed at our hospital is as stress-free and comfortable an experience as possible. We want you to feel confident knowing that your pet will be in exceptional hands with our surgical team.

Our highly skilled doctors are experienced in performing a wide range of surgeries, from routine to complex, using the most modern equipment and advanced surgical techniques. Our goal is to deliver the very best available surgical care with each procedure we perform, while always adhering the highest standards of care. Regardless of what surgery your pet needs, we will always place his or her safety and comfort as our highest priority.

Before your pet even enters the operating room, we will perform a thorough physical exam and run a number of diagnostic tests to determine whether or not they are healthy enough to proceed. We never want to place our patients at risk, and we take every precaution to ensure that all surgeries are performed in the safest, most efficient manner possible. The sooner we can get your pet fixed up, the sooner we can have them on the road to a full and speedy recovery, which is always our ultimate goal.

When your pet has been cleared for surgery, we’ll get right to work developing and implementing an appropriate pain management plan that is customized to your pet’s specific needs, using only the safest anesthetic products. During surgery, your pet will remain as comfortable as possible on our heated surgery table, and his or her vital signs will be closely monitored by our highly skilled veterinary technicians. This includes heart rate, respiratory rate, EKG and oxygen saturation, to ensure your pet’s optimum well-being at all times.

Once surgery is complete, your pet will be moved to our warm, comfortable recovery area where he or she will continue to be closely monitored. A member of our team will contact you to explain how everything went and arrange a time for you to come pick your pet up. When you arrive to retrieve your pet, we’ll provide you with complete aftercare instructions as well as a pain management plan, if necessary, to help your pet recover comfortably once he or she returns home.

Regardless of the type of surgery your pet needs, you can trust the experienced, compassionate staff at Noah’s Animal Hospital at Wheaton.
